Walk Glasgow

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do tours start from?
All Tours meet beside Fireman Statue at corner of Gordon St and Hope St (outside Central Station)

Are there minimum or maximum numbers for the tours?
Standard 2 hour tours require a minimum of 2 adults. There is no maximum number within reason, but we may split the guests into two groups for safety and manageability if numbers justify this.
Half-day tours are flat-rates and normally restricted to 6 persons maximum. Additional numbers on request.

What about minimum ages?
All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The tours are unsuitable for children under the age of 5.

Can you accommodate guests with disabilities?
All the walking tours involve a fair bit of walking so persons with mobility restrictions may find their tour quite challenging. The standard 2 hour tour has no steps or hills so the route can be adapted to assist wheelchair users. The half-day tour unfortunately is unsuited to guests with mobility issues.

Do you go out in bad weather?
Walks will always go ahead except in rare cases of extreme weather or dangerous conditions
Inclement weather and Scotland go hand in hand so the walks will always go ahead. Warm, sunny days quickly become cold, wet and windy ones (and vice versa) so please ensure you are prepared for this. Suitable footwear is strongly advised.

What if I wish to complain about any aspect of the tour?
If you feel your tour was unsatisfactory or you are otherwise unhappy with any part of the service provided by Walk Glasgow please contact us in writing as soon as possible ( and in any event not more than 14 days after the tour date) detailing the nature of your grievance. Be assured that any complaint will be fully investigated and we will respond timeously and fairly. Should it be apparent that we have not met the standards which you would be reasonably entitled to expect your ticket cost will be refunded.

What if I wish to cancel my booking, change to another or later tour, or turn up late?
You will receive a full refund ( less any online booking fee that may have been applied) if you cancel 24 hours or more before the start of your tour. If you cancel within 24 hours of the start time then 50% of each ticket cost will be retained to cover guide costs and expenses. If you reschedule your tour to a later date within 24 hours of tour start time we will proceed with the revised date without penalty but will retain the full cost of your tour if you do not attend the rescheduled tour. Should you arrive after the scheduled tour has commenced we will retain the full cost of your tour but offer you a free rescheduling of your tour.

Are there any additional charges for attractions, entry fees etc during the tour?
No. The booking cost is fully inclusive.

Am I expected to tip the guide?
If your guide has made your day a happy one then the matter of gratuity is entirely at your discretion.
